FinanceDataReader
Open-source Python reader for global stock and market data
What it is
A Python library and CLI for reading financial market data from multiple international sources. It fetches stock listings and prices for KRX, NASDAQ, NYSE, AMEX, and exchanges in Shanghai, Shenzhen, Hong Kong, Tokyo, and Ho Chi Minh City, along with indexes, ETF listings, delisting and administrative stock lists, currency rates, and cryptocurrency prices. Data can be pulled via the fdr command-line tool with configurable output formats, or through the Python API. Because it is a data reader rather than a backtesting or execution framework, users will need separate tooling to build and run trading strategies on top of it.
