OpenBB
Open-source financial data platform with Python, CLI, and REST access
What it is
An open-source financial data platform that consolidates proprietary, licensed, and public data sources behind a single integration layer. It exposes data through a Python interface, a command-line interface, and a local FastAPI-based REST server, so the same connections can feed quants, analysts, AI agents, and other applications. Data engineers building downstream tools such as AI copilots and research dashboards are the primary audience. Fully unlocking the platform's visualization and AI features requires connecting to OpenBB Workspace, a separate enterprise product not included in the open-source package.
