Stdlib script for SEC full-text search to CSV
What it is
A single-file Python script that searches the text of SEC filings through EDGAR's public full-text endpoint and writes the hits to CSV. When a query would exceed the endpoint's result ceiling, it splits the date window, pages each piece, and drops duplicate documents, using only the standard library. Analysts who want the company, form, filing period, accession, CIK, and a document link without an API key can run it locally. The SEC expects a descriptive User-Agent and a modest request rate, the full-text index skips the earliest EDGAR decades, and a day that is still over the ceiling has to be narrowed by form type.
