fedfred
Python client for FRED, GeoFRED, ALFRED, and FRASER
What it is
A Python client for the Saint Louis Fed economic databases, covering FRED, GeoFRED, ALFRED, and FRASER. Observations can return as pandas, Polars, or Dask frames, geographic results can return as GeoDataFrames, and both synchronous and asynchronous clients ship with a local cache and a limiter of 120 calls a minute. Economists and quantitative researchers who already hold a key for those services can load series without writing an HTTP client. A key has to be configured before any call, cached hits do not count toward the limiter, and XML responses are not supported.
