Third-party Python client for FRED, ALFRED, and FRASER
What it is
A third-party Python client for the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis data APIs, maintained independently of the Bank. It covers FRED, the archival ALFRED interface, FRED Maps, and the FRASER library, and it returns most payloads as pandas DataFrames with dates and numeric values already typed. Method names follow the upstream API, a default limiter stays inside the call quota, and map results can use geopandas. Economists and developers who want those series in Python are the audience, but registration for an API key is required, and a few calls return a single model object rather than a frame.
