Normalized Japanese EDINET filings for Python and assistants
What it is
A Python library and local MCP server that reads Japan's EDINET disclosure system and normalizes XBRL filings into canonical labels. It can search listed companies, pull annual, quarterly and extraordinary reports, and expose balance-sheet, income and cash-flow lines under Japanese or English names whether the filer used J-GAAP, IFRS or US-GAAP, plus profitability metrics and risk narratives. Analysts and assistants focused on Japanese issuers can screen a small set of companies and export statements to Polars or pandas after a free regulator API key is set. Coverage stops at EDINET, the period argument is the filing year rather than the fiscal year, and calls follow the regulator's own rate limits.
